How old is the IE? What version?
Do you experience the problem at any other site that uses extensive javascripting?

I see a number of postings "indented" beneath other postings.
What is the symptom that you experience?

I have IE version #6. The posts are displayed over the menu and they looked like the conflicting layers or something  ::) . If I view this site with FireFox, it looks alright. I can't have IE #7 yet. I need more memory. :)

This version of SMF 2.0 made with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher in mind. JavaScript and cookies need be enabled for them to work correctly.

Problem possibly server side. Admin need to check.
1) Suggest for adding PHP call header("Cache-control: private"); to follow after session_start() This may fix user problem.
2) Other possibly. Previous version not uninstalled properly before new version in use. This leave possible conflict remnant file on server in demon home of config space.

Hmmmm...Interesting.  I have two page open overlapping. I click and hold blue title bar on top page. One page on top becomes transparent - I see both full pages at same moment. No problem ... interesting ...

I am using Mozilla/5.0. Have problem also. After making post, my browser view is strange. User Name and Post title crowd to right. Text over writes buttons on right side.

Problems do not seem problem in SMF version 1.1.7. sites (example: elder DASSK.COM).

Hammurabi - You are right. The site looks fine with latest Fire Fox and Internet Explorer. The alignment of the Poster Name part is also no good especially on the small screen. The site was modified by two different helpers and they are away. I will try to fix this loose alignment issue. You still need to have the latest version of software as they updated for reasons. Fire Fox is known to be better and secure.

Keoek - thanks for the great suggestions. I fill find out about the session issue. I don't know how they installed it on this new site. Heavy modifications too. I only was posting the News. They are good but away now. I am sure this has to do with their updates and edits. I will get help and fix it.

Thank you for fast interest on these items.

Please keep in mind that international members do not necessarily have latest and best in hardware or software. Some is restricted or purposefully impaired in international markets. Others find cost exhornatant within country.

I forgot to add that both of my issues come about using a ThinkPad laptop.

Can you test on your system for the loose alignment in the post?

I observe here that the phenomenon has disappeared.

Alignment is proper from SUSE 10.2/11.1 x86_64 running Mozilla 5.0 from a Lenova Thinkpad. There is No overlapping text. No transparent windows. No evident issues.

- Alignment from Debian:
    * using Epiphany - Good View; No Error.

- Alignment from Win2003:
    *  using IE6 - Good View. No Error.
    *  using IE7 - Problem remains;
                          but all to the left;
                          one post inside of another post;
                          overlapping text is now to the left.
                        Problem before was same, but to right side.
- Alignment from WinXP:
     * using IE7 - Problem; same as above.
     * using IE8 - Good View; No Error.

The problem now appears to be only with IE7. Dwindling width of posts shells "inside" of other post becomes exceedingly annoying four posts down from original.

Anyone using IE7, can easily upgrade to IE8.

This issue is adequately resolved.
Thank you.
