Burma's Generals-Time to start packing
« on: June 19, 2009, 09:55:21 AM »
Check out this link as it gives pictures of 2 of the general names and details.

If this is available on the bbc website then its no secret.

Here's another link to a bigger group of the Junta.

I dont really think the UN is in a position to effect strong changes in the current Burmese scenario. I think its the International Court of Justice in The Hague (Holland) who can actually work in conjunction with Interpol to cause for their arrest when ever possible. I am positive that these despots can be apprehended in Bangkok or Phuket by international agents- not involving Thai agents for their own safety. I think we should take this up with the ICC. In the years gone by quite a few former dictators/generals/commanders involved in ethnic cleansing and war crimes, have been apprehended and are serving their sentences. If the ICC orders their arrests and some rich country like USA/Australia put a bounty on their heads, I am sure justice can be done. But we need to prove genocide/ethnic cleansing/government sponsored murder in Burma. The ICC will take it from there.Lets leave UN out of this as it hasnt done anything substantial on the Burmese scenario. China is a growing economy and in the near future the chinese would abandon the Junta if the world begins to pressurize them.
When we look at the current scenario in Pakistan- The Pakistani security forces are battling the Taliban in the SWAT valley. In the years gone by the Taliban was supported by the Pakistani government, today they are killing each other because USA has made Pakistan to begin shedding their extra baggage aka Taliban or risk losing on Billions of Dollars in Aid from USA. IT would probably take much more effort to get China to stand aside but if the ICC has sufficient grounds to get these junta generals to The Hague then I believe Justice will be done.
We now need to get a couple of good lawyers specializing in international matters to present their case of prosecution against these Generals. If we as individuals start the ball rolling I am sure the US/Australian Governments will act by sending in an International Peace Keeping force to Burma. The Media can play a crucial role too.If there is substantial effort on a few fronts for a start we can slowly push forward and work towards Burmese liberation from the Junta.

What we also need are a few like minded individuals to make a forum and a pact to set the ball rolling. Who is interested ? I am but I need a team. Even if I get a hundred volunteers for a start I would consider it encouraging. So who is with me??

Open Letter to Obama
« Reply #2 on: June 20, 2009, 10:10:48 AM »
Dear Mr.Obama,
I am aware that you must have received many letters from people who respect you and wish you well in your presidency.I do respect you and wish a man of your stature, had been president of the USA earlier. The world loved your slogan "Change we can believe in" and yes its "change" that we are requesting you to cause. There is probably nothing you dont know about the Military Junta that is running and ruining Burma and the many cases of genocide and ill treatment meted out to pro-democratic organisations in Burma. If you can spare a few moments of your time to please think about the situation in Burma- I implore you to do so.
Hundreds and thousands of Burmese have been waiting for a "change" ever since the Junta captured power in Burma and  continued their barbaric treatment of opponents including  Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who was democratically elected as the leader of Burma.
Mr.Obama, when you were elected as President of the USA, you must have been very happy and honored. During the transition period from President-elect till the day you actually were sworn in as President, the world was following your every move.(Except the betting company that did not pay out on the bets that people had made on you winning the race with McCain for fear that you would probably be assassinated before you took oath). You had the best security and the best people around you. Who did Daw Aung San Suu Kyi have? She was arrested and thrown in jail and has been languishing in home arrest for years.
She has probably lost very important things in her life (her husband's death) but she still has that hope that one day democracy will prevail in her home land.
That glimmer of hope Mr.Obama , is you now. You are now the one that can effect that "change" these poor Burmese people are praying for.
I am sure you are aware who is Burma's ally and main supporter. But your Secretary of State and her team can surely play a crucial role in minimizing any impact the US will have with Burma's ally.
The world is hoping that "Change we can believe in" is not limited to the USA.
Please expand it to the whole world and the world will be grateful to you.
I do not expect you to send in the B52s tomorrow, but I beg you to help the Burmese population by bringing back democracy in Burma. As the world's biggest democracy and the world's strongest country, the USA can find the best way to deal with the situation in Burma.
Mr.Obama, we also want to believe in your slogan "Change we can believe in".
Please help.
Thank you Sir.

The president now of America will be a great President for my expectation. But I am not expecting that he will be the best president ever.

Hi

My first day, I just joined. I am writing from Argentina  but live in australia n spend  many months of the year in Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai, Mae Sot.
I support your suggestions and passionate feelings towards a fair and  just peace for the Burmese people.
I havd made a few short Dvdsn Burma, with the kind help of DVB who have supplied footage.
I have also made contact with Mizzima , partners in Chiang Mai ,Irrawaddy  Magazine and Sean From Macquarie University.
To generate the short movie I have gathered a great deal of Information from numerous sources. The research that has been effected has impacted on my sensibilities. These Generals n their families and associated Cronies including Corporations and dribbling Resource hungry Asean Countries proves to me beyond any DOUBT that Burma is the Ultimate Resource SCAM, cheap resources

Its me again ,the space available was insufficient.
As noted its the RESOURCES that is driving this, the Corporations the enormous Narco funds and the destruction of villages in the expectation of a resource land grab for the filthy lowlife Corporations the Generals  their greedy grubby racially extreme Burman families, their cronies and MOST ASEAN COUNTRIES.
The bribes ,the Sanction busting by the ULTIMATE FASCIST ASEAN STATE..
SINGAPORE.There are literrally BILLIONS OF $$$$ in Sinapore held in Trust by the Singaporean Banks with the implicit knowledge of LEE KUAN YEW, Lee Canlie2U, who happens to own part of the Myanmar Fund which has a 25% interest in Asia World.THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE on this FORUM.

Augusto Pinochet: Case study.
Questions:
1. Which country, in which court will issue a warrant?
2.Do you have a solid evidence to back up your claim?
3. Do you realize that "they" are head of state?
4. Under which article of universal Jurisdiction, will you claim to arrest "them"?
5. Do you know that the legal foundation and code of ICC is based on "respect of sovereignty"?
my friend, do not assume or take action based on your uneducated knowledge (in the field of IRs and ILs) on the matter and issue which are way beyond your level of understanding. If you do so, you will only prolong the standoff. As a result, we will suffer. I am assuming you are not here in Burma.

Sir,  I agree with you re the International Court the UN n Asean. They are all mediocre slow etc.You got the wrong person. My post was aimed at the MONEY, where is all this money from Oil n gas minerals etc.Its not in Burma?? Its in secret numbered Bank accounts mostly Singapore .How do you impact on the Generals their Corporate, narco, certain Asean Countries n their Business Cronies..Resources Billions have been shifted OUT of your Country. BEST WAY to hit these exploiters n  to EXPOSE their Involvement. SINGAPORE IN PARTICULAR is very sensitive to adverse Publicity. They have the MONEY they supply cyber systems, (your E mails maybe monitored by Singapores cyber systems) arms factories n advice re Asean like "We of Asean Do not want to interfere in Asean Countries Internal Affairs", etc to keep their Junta friends in Power. They cleverly block any criticism of the Junta, most of the sanctions are BUSTED BY SINGAPORE. Target Singapore Expose them to the World media. BOYCOTT them, demonstrate outside their Embassies, their International Business their Banks. CUT THE MONEY SCREW THE GENERALS, MONEY IS POWER Hit Singapore hard THEY ARE THE WEAK LINK.THEY HATE BAD PUBLICITY n it hurts their international "REPUTATION".As noted Singapore is the "ULTIMATE BUSINESS PROSTITUTE money is more important to them than HUMAN RIGHTS.
Rgds
Michael
There ARE BILLIONS n Billions enough  to alleviate the suffering of all the Burmese. Again its the Money n if these Genocidal Generals have their money confiscated their power is greatly diminishd.
